Sad news. It's been a tough year. Musician Phil Guy passed away August 20th due to prostate cancer which had spread. He was diagnosed in January. I was his music manager for 3 1/​2 years but a friend of his family and him since 2001. We were working on revising a manuscript I wrote specifically about Buddy Guy, to include information about Phil, too.
I will continue to move forward with that project.

I attended the fabulous SCBWI New York conference (Jan. 30 - Feb.1). There were editors, agents, publishers, writers and illustrators who inspired and motivated everyone in attendance, including me. I got busy revising 2 of my manuscripts which had been shelved for a few years, and within the past 2 weeks I've sent them out to several publishers and agents.

I continue to revise and add to the Buddy and Phil Guy manuscript, which is an adult biography of both musicians. Had a chance to visit with their siblings in Louisiana in March. It's always a good time and lots of great cajun food.

Chicago is finally warming up! Yeh!
